IT Professional, hobby photographer, mom.

Some I do better than others :) Welcome to my life, my loves, and my home. Living life in our nation's capital
by way of the mitten state, sharing her life through her camera lens, sometimes updating the blog.
Hope you enjoy the view!

I'm Carrie, a hobbyist photographer with a passion for the art. I currently work full time in the IT field, but spend my free time obsessively photographing my family and friends. I used to be an avid blogger, but in a nutshell, I use this site to document our everyday and love sharing it with family and friends. This site is my way to share photos and stories of my personal life.

Are you in IT and looking for my professional experience and contacts? You can find my resume and professional work history on Linked In, especially since I love making new connections in my area of the federal government IT space.

I'm originally from Michigan, but I currently live in southeast DC with my cats and my two kids.

From my days as a college freshman, this site has grown and changed as I have moved through the various stages of my life, and it continues to develop and reflect the adventures I face with the new ones ahead. I hope to keep growing and sharing here, and can't wait to see what life has in store!

PHOTOGRAPHY - documenting our everyday

I'm your typical "mom with a camera", following my family around, snapping away on Instagram, and just trying to learn as much as possible about this beloved art form.

In my camera bag:

Canon 6D
Canon 35mm 1.4
Canon 100mm 2.8 macro (non-L)
Canon 85mm 1.8
Canon 50mm 1.4
Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8
Vintage Helios 44-2 58mm f/2
Lensbaby Composer Pro with Sweet 50 and Edge 80  (and macro accessory), LEE filters
Speedlite 580EX ii
iPhone 8s Plus

I have a few places where I share my photography. I love Instagram and my Flickr account for the every day and backup photos. For friend and family sharing, I have started uploading photos to Zenfolio here (and I also use this as my master portfolio):
